Rhea Ripley, known for her impressive wrestling skills and captivating presence, has been entangled in an on-screen partnership with Dominik Mysterio since September 2022. However, a new twist might be on the horizon as former WWE Superstar James Ellsworth has recently revealed his interest in being added to their storyline.
James Ellsworth, who made his mark in WWE between 2016 and 2018, gained recognition as Carmella's loyal companion during her victorious Money in the Bank run. Additionally, he engaged in memorable battles against formidable opponents such as AJ Styles and Braun Strowman.
During an interview on The Hannibal TV, Ellsworth enthusiastically expressed his desire to become Ripley's new love interest should he make his return to WWE: "In WWE, I would love to do something with Rhea and Dom just because I think the fans would be entertained by it, if the Ellsworth character came in and he's trying to get with Mami [Rhea Ripley] and Dominik's getting p****d off.
I think about the fans. I think fans would be entertained by that." [59:34 – 59:54] Dominik Mysterio, currently one of the most celebrated and widely recognized WWE figures, consistently garners thunderous crowd reactions whenever he graces the ring.
Ripley, affectionately referred to as Mami, has become a regular presence by his side during his television appearances.
Rhea Ripley WrestleMania Triumph
Notably, in April, Rhea Ripley achieved a momentous victory over Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39, a match widely regarded as one of the standout performances of the two-night event.
James Ellsworth, appreciative of Ripley's triumph, hailed the match as one of the best in-ring encounters of 2023 so far. Ellsworth also expressed his willingness to step into the ring against Ripley, asserting his belief in her star power and exceptional talent: "Working a match with Rhea Ripley would be awesome," Ellsworth enthused.
"I think she looks like more of a star than anyone right now. She's just so unique. She's awesome in the ring. Her and Charlotte at WrestleMania, I kid you not, is my favorite match out of any match I've seen this year. I thought that was amazing." Ellsworth, having previously faced formidable female competitors such as Asuka and Becky Lynch during his time with WWE, is no stranger to these types of matchups, showcasing his willingness to take on diverse challenges within the squared circle.
