Jey Uso has found himself deeply embroiled in the ongoing turmoil within The Bloodline faction. Despite recent setbacks for the group, Roman Reigns, known as "The Tribal Chief," continues to reign supreme as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, surpassing an impressive 1,000 days at the top.
However, with a potential showdown between the family members looming at SummerSlam, AAA head booker Konnan believes that Jey Uso may be one of the few remaining threats capable of dethroning Reigns. During a recent episode of "Keepin' It 100," Konnan shared his thoughts on the matter, emphasizing the need for someone to eventually step up to challenge Reigns.
According to Konnan, Jey Uso is the most natural choice for this role. He stated, "You're gonna have to give your rub to somebody sooner rather than later. It might as well be [Jey Uso]. He's the most natural opponent you have.
They weren't going to do it with [Sami] Zayn, might as well do it with him."
Jey Uso Makes History
Jey recently accomplished what many deemed impossible by pinning Roman Reigns at WWE Money In The Bank. This victory not only solidified his position as a credible title contender but also marked the first time Reigns had been pinned since 2019.
While Reigns has already dispatched two formidable challengers this year—former "Honorary Uce" Sami Zayn, whom he defeated at WWE Elimination Chamber, and Cody Rhodes, who fell to Reigns at WrestleMania 39—Jey Uso poses a unique threat.
The history between Jey and Reigns stretches back to their intense feud in 2020, culminating in a Hell in a Cell match. Following their rivalry, Jey swore his allegiance to "The Tribal Chief." However, earlier this year, that allegiance fractured, leaving only Jey's brother Solo Sikoa and Reigns' advocate Paul Heyman standing by the champion's side.
In the recent "Trial of Roman Reigns" on Friday, Sikoa solidified his loyalty to his cousin, further intensifying the family dynamics. With tensions rising and the possibility of a high-stakes showdown between Jey Uso and Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, Konnan's assertion that Uso is the most viable threat to Reigns yet holds weight.
The WWE Universe eagerly awaits the clash of these family titans, as Jey Uso looks to overcome the indomitable reign of his cousin and finally seize the Universal Championship for himself.
