Booker T Reacts to Zilla Fatu's ROW Wrestling Debut

Last Saturday, on July 15, the wrestling world witnessed the pro wrestling debut of Zilla Fatu at a Reality of Wrestling (ROW) event, a promotion owned and operated by WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. As the son of the legendary late Umaga, Zilla has been diligently honing his skills at ROW since December 2022.

The young wrestler's debut performance left a lasting impact on the audience and earned him heartfelt praise from his mentor, Booker T. During a recent episode of his "Hall of Fame" podcast, Booker T shared his thoughts on Zilla Fatu's remarkable debut.

Composure, a rare trait for a rookie in front of a live crowd, was evident in Zilla's performance, as he exuded an air of self-assuredness throughout the match. Booker remarked, "That was Zilla Fatu's first match in front of a crowd.

You could tell, he was very composed. You know, we had this thing in wrestling, where we say if you feel like you're going slow, move a little bit slower, he had that effect going on. His quickness, his explosiveness was definitely there."

Umaga's Spirit Felt Throughout

The emotional gravity of the moment was palpable as Booker T went on to discuss the profound presence of Zilla's late father, Umaga, at the event.

The WWE Universe mourned the untimely loss of the two-time Intercontinental Champion on December 4, 2009, when he was just 36 years old. Booker candidly spoke about how Umaga's spirit seemed to fill the arena that night, as if he were sitting beside him.

"You could feel his dad in the arena, I can tell you that right now man, I swear to God, you could feel his dad right in the arena," explained Booker. "I could see his dad sitting right there next to me. That's one thing about Umaga, he would not miss a Reality of Wrestling show.

He wouldn't miss a show. He showed up no matter if he was told not to show up, he would still show up. You know what I mean. I'm serious. I know he wasn't supposed to be at the show a lot of times, he'd say, 'Hey man, the hell with it, I'm coming.'

I know I could feel his presence, and I think that Zilla also felt a little bit of it." The profound bond between father and son was evident in Zilla's performance, and the tribute to Umaga's legacy brought forth a surge of emotions for both the performers and the fans in attendance.

It was a night of celebration, remembrance, and a testament to the enduring spirit of the wrestling dynasty that lives on through Zilla Fatu. As Zilla Fatu's wrestling journey begins, the WWE Universe eagerly awaits his future matches, all while keeping the memory of his father alive in their hearts and minds.

With the guidance and support of a mentor like Booker T, there's no doubt that Zilla's potential in the squared circle is limitless. His debut at ROW will be etched in the annals of wrestling history, as an impressive performance and a heartwarming tribute to a beloved wrestling icon, Umaga.
