WWE First India Live Event in 5 Years: Superstar Spectacle

With an eventful year filled with international spectacles, WWE has demonstrated its determination to broaden the reach of its brand across the globe. After hosting the high-stakes events Backlash and Money in the Bank in Puerto Rico and the UK respectively, as well as a record-setting live event in Mexico in July, WWE is all set to venture back into Indian territory after a hiatus of almost six years.

In an exciting revelation, WWE announced today that it will make its triumphant return to India with a live event scheduled for September 8. The eagerly anticipated event, titled "WWE Superstar Spectacle," will be hosted in the expansive GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in the bustling city of Hyderabad, India.

This marks not only WWE's first event in Hyderabad, but also its first show in India since a memorable December 2017 match in Delhi.

Anticipating the Superstar Spectacle

Fans can look forward to experiencing the electrifying atmosphere of the WWE live when tickets become available on August 4.

Previous events in India have proven popular, with the 2017 showdown in Delhi featuring the clash between the current WWE CCO Triple H and the former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, the most recognized WWE performer of Indian origin.

However, the upcoming Superstar Spectacle was initially planned for January 2023 and was announced in December 2022. The postponement was a consequence of a merger involving Sony Sports Network, WWE's TV partner in India. While the event is still a few weeks away and a specific card has yet to be released, WWE's announcement has sent fans into a frenzy with the prospect of seeing top-tier talent in action.

The bill promises appearances from current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, WWE Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, and WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther, among others.

To top it off, Indian stars Mahal, Veer, and Sanga of Indus Sher have been confirmed to grace the ring, enhancing the cultural connection and excitement for the Indian audience. The WWE Superstar Spectacle is undeniably shaping up to be an unforgettable chapter in WWE's history of international shows.
