Seth Rollins Talks About His Frustrating Time At The WWE
Even though Seth’s career is going well these days, a year ago, he went through a frustrating time.
He revealed that he was extremely frustrated during the lead up to WrestleMania 38. Apparently, the WWE creative team did not have any plans for him. Eventually, Seth Rollins was asked to wreslter former AEW EVP, Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 38.
Cody was very popular during that time, as he was one of the founders of All Elite Wrestling. According to reports, Vince McMahon selected Cody Rhodes to fight Seth at WrestleMania 38. "I would say the beginning of 2022 was the most angry I've ever been," Rollins told "SI Media." "There were two or three instances that, I'm not going to get into specifically, but essentially from the Day 1 pay-per-view to getting the match with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania — that process was very frustrating for me.
"It ended in a good way, and we got into a good place, but getting there was not ideal, and I very much voiced my concerns at that point in time." The host then asked Seth to talk precisely about the frustration. Seth stated that he was given a road-map for Day 1 of WrestleMania 38.
However, those plans “changed drastically”. He stated that plans for Day 1 changed numerous times during the subsequent weeks. WrestleMania 39 also made several headlines, but not for the right reasons. The RAW that took place after WrestleMania 39 was apparently being run by Vince McMahon.
Vince returned to the company after spending some time in retirement. Most wrestlers believed during that time that he will not control the creative side of things. An incident occurred during that RAW episode that frustrated Seth.
According to him, he was supposed to walk out to the ring, but a “production miscommunication” ruined the entire segment. The audience was supposed to sing his song as he walked out to the ring during the commercial break. Due to the miscommunication, the WWE started airing video packages instead. So Seth walked back without saying a word.
