WWE Raw 8/15 Episode Hits Two-Month Ratings Low

Amidst heightened anticipation for the clash between Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch, Monday's episode of "WWE Raw" experienced an unexpected ratings slump. According to data unveiled by Wrestlenomics, the latest "Raw" episode garnered a viewership of approximately 1.757 million, representing the weakest turnout since June 12.

This reflects a 7% decrease from the preceding week. Notably, there was a 10% decline in the P18-49 demographic, attracting a mere 713,000 viewers, making it the most diminished viewership since July 31 for this crucial age bracket.

Highlights Amid Ratings Dip

Despite the broader ratings trend, certain segments did capture significant attention. Wrestlenomics pinpointed the highest-rated quarter-hour of Monday's episode: the fierce altercation that erupted post-match involving Rhea Ripley, Candice LeRae, and Indi Hartwell.

Additionally, a war of words between Shinsuke Nakamura and WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, was a notable standout for the night. Interestingly, the duel between Otis and GUNTHER resonated well with the 18-49 demographic, who seemed slightly more engaged than the general viewership.

However, the episode's commencement didn't fare as well. A significant fraction chose to bypass The Judgment Day's opening remarks and Sami Zayn's initial bout against J.D. McDonagh. The eagerly anticipated face-off between Lynch and Stratus also witnessed a surprising dip, concluding disappointingly in a double count-out.

The evening's main event showcased Cody Rhodes clinching a victory over The Judgment Day's Finn Balor, leveraging Damian Priest's Money In The Bank briefcase. In an unforeseen twist, Priest's endeavor to secretly pass the briefcase to Balor backfired, inadvertently assisting Rhodes instead.

This downturn in viewership isn't isolated. Recently, "SmackDown", another prime WWE event that aired last Friday, also observed a decline in its ratings. Analysts speculate that this may have been influenced by the overlapping NFL preseason football schedule, which potentially diverted a portion of the regular audience.
