In the ever-evolving landscape of professional wrestling, talents often find themselves making an impact across various promotions. Christopher Daniels, with his vast accomplishments, has left an indelible mark on every platform he graced.

From his defining years in the early TNA epoch to his ascension as the Ring of Honor World Champion, Daniels's wrestling trajectory is exemplary. Yet, one prominent organization always eluded Daniels: Vince McMahon’s WWE.

Between 1998 and 2001, "The Fallen Angel" did engage in some enhancement matches with WWE but never secured an official contract.

Ross Discusses McMahon's Oversight

Jim Ross, a revered figure in the wrestling world and WWE’s former Head of Talent Relations, recently shed light on the reasons behind this glaring omission on his Grilling JR podcast.

He revealed, “The primary reason was Vince's lack of vision. Vince couldn't visualize Daniels in the WWE narrative. While it's undeniable that Christopher may not be the largest wrestler, his unparalleled skills and adaptability set him apart”.

Ross also clarified that had the decision come to him directly, he wouldn't have hesitated in bringing Daniels on board. “Chris is synonymous with versatility. Known for his high-flying moves, he is equally proficient in ground-based wrestling.

If only the directive to sign him had landed on my desk, Daniels would have been a WWE star," he lamented. In a twist of fate, Christopher Daniels now helms the Head of Talent Relations role at AEW. As the tides shift, he might just be fielding a call from a recent WWE departee.

Once a glittering star in the WWE constellation, Lacey Evans recently dropped hints of bidding the company farewell. These speculations have been cemented with the confirmation of her contract's expiration. With Daniels's transition from a wrestler to a talent scout and Evans's departure from WWE, the wrestling world witnesses yet another shuffle.

McMahon's oversight with Daniels serves as a poignant reminder that sometimes, the biggest stars are the ones you fail to recognize until they shine elsewhere.
