WWE Superstar Xavier Woods has officially announced that he will not be participating in the upcoming episode of "WWE Raw." Through a candid revelation on social media this Tuesday, Woods confirmed that he hasn't received medical clearance to wrestle.

This comes after the shocking events from last Monday's "Raw," where he faced an unexpected injury after an errant chair shot from Drew McIntyre. Although McIntyre later claimed it was a mere mishap, aiming for Erik of The Viking Raiders instead, the damage was done.

Recounting the unfortunate incident, Woods mentioned, "Moments before I had a chair hurled into my face giving me whiplash. Doctors' orders, no wrestling next week. Was pumped to be out there on my birthday but it looks like I'll be spending it at home next Monday.

See y'all the week after."

New Day's Clash with Viking Raiders

The unforeseen accident unfolded during a fierce tag team bout between The Viking Raiders and The New Day. While Woods and fellow New Day member Kofi Kingston put up a brave front, the bout eventually saw Erik and Ivar clinching the victory.

Adding intrigue to the night's events, Drew McIntyre was present at ringside, accompanied by Matt Riddle, both seemingly gauging the competition. Riddle, in recent weeks, has been earnestly trying to persuade McIntyre into forming a regular tag team duo.

For those keeping track, the matchups and alliances have been oscillating lately. On the August 21 edition of "Raw," the formidable duo of Kingston and Woods bested McIntyre and Riddle. Rewinding further to the August 7 episode, The New Day took down The Viking Raiders.

Remarkably, that episode marked The New Day's triumphant return to the tag team scene. Their previous tag team encounter was a dark match against The Judgment Day's Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio, which took place during the February 10 "SmackDown." Before embarking on this journey, both Woods and Kingston showcased their prowess on "NXT," holding the coveted "NXT" Tag Team Titles from December 2022 until February of the current year.
