For two solid years, Roman Reigns and The Bloodline have dominated the WWE universe. Their reign, spearheaded by The Tribal Chief himself, has inevitably attracted attention, especially from up-and-coming talents. One notable individual is NXT's rising sensation, Bron Breakker.
On September 26, 2023, the 25-year-old prodigy made waves during the NXT episode. Breakker appeared donning an all-black ensemble punctuated by red shoes, eerily reminiscent of Reigns' iconic SmackDown attire. His segment with Happy Corbin that night further fueled speculations.
Post his triumph against Josh Briggs, Breakker's verbal spat with Corbin swiftly escalated to an all-out melee. This altercation, which took them from the ring to the parking lot, culminated in a grand showdown at Shawn Michaels' office.
Breakker's audacious spear to his NXT No Mercy rival stole the spotlight, and possibly hinted at a challenge to Reigns. Interestingly, this isn't Breakker's first playful nudge towards Reigns. The former NXT Champion had previously donned a 'Best Spear in the Business' tank top during the special Heatwave edition of NXT on August 22, 2023.
This raised many eyebrows and set tongues wagging about a potential face-off. Though Breakker's trajectory post-NXT No Mercy remains shrouded in mystery, we can't ignore his RAW debut back on March 7, 2022, where he partnered with Tommaso Ciampa against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.
Reigns' Anticipated Return
Reigns, on the other hand, is poised to make a significant return. Anticipation builds for his slated appearance on the October 13, 2023, SmackDown episode. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, absent since his August 11 showcase, is expected to set the stage for Crown Jewel 2023.
There's a strategic opportunity for WWE to orchestrate a Reigns-Breakker confrontation at the Survivor Series 2023. Imaginably, their first encounter could occur backstage at the November 25th Premium Live Event. A bold Breakker could jestingly advise Reigns on perfecting the Spear, referencing his audacious tank top slogan.
Reigns, ever the unflappable Tribal Chief, might just chuckle at this newbie's audacity. But is this a sign of bigger clashes on the horizon? Only time will tell.
