In an industry of rapid evolutions and shifting characters, Toni Storm has solidified her position as a standout in AEW’s women’s division, morphing into a vintage movie star reminiscent of Hollywood's golden era.

Her recent transformation might trace its roots back to the moment she relinquished the AEW Women's Title to Hikaru Shida during Dynamite's landmark 200th episode. Since parting ways with the Outcasts, her storyline trajectory has been anything but linear.

In her latest episode of the "Portrait of a Star" series alongside the talented RJ City, Storm takes a nostalgic journey back to a notorious WWE episode. There, she had delivered a memorable pie-slap to Charlotte Flair, reminding fans and fellow wrestlers alike of the unpredictable nature of the business.

She nostalgically remarks, “In the old days, things were more straightforward; wear a backward hat, pie someone in the face, and you were the crowd favorite”.

Storm Critiques Industry

The sentiment further highlights the current industry's demanding nature, with Storm adding, “Today, the narrative is 'What’s your latest achievement?' If there isn’t blood, sweat, and tears on a weekly basis, you're overlooked in professional commentary”.

Storm concludes with a sassy note, “Forgive me for embracing my stardom. If the world needs a reminder of what a star truly looks like, then I'm here to jog their memory”. Delving a bit into Storm's WWE timeline, she predominantly showcased her prowess in the NXT UK and NXT sections.

Her elevation to the SmackDown main roster in the summer of 2021 led to a fierce rivalry with Charlotte Flair. However, their wrestling saga culminated at a live event on December 28th, 2021. Flair triumphed in a triple-threat match against Storm and Sasha Banks.

This match was marked as Storm's WWE swan song. Following the event, Storm reportedly made a personal decision to depart, flying home and seeking a release from her WWE contract, which was promptly honored.
