In a surprising twist to their burgeoning dual-sport careers, Haley Cavinder, one-half of the celebrated Cavinder Twins, has signalled a return to college basketball for the 2024-25 NCAA season. This unexpected pivot comes just months after both twins seemed to have set their sights on professional wrestling, even appearing on WWE's NXT program alongside Thea Hail.

Initially gaining nationwide recognition through basketball, Haley and her sister Hanna made headlines in 2021 when they inked Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements with WWE. These groundbreaking deals permitted them to continue their collegiate basketball careers while concurrently honing their wrestling skills.

However, ESPN reports that Haley, a guard for the Miami Hurricanes, is contemplating a comeback to college hoops in approximately one year. The report further suggests that Haley is open to playing for other schools should she be unable to secure a spot with the Hurricanes.

Whether Hanna will also lace up her basketball sneakers again remains uncertain.

WWE or NCAA

Last April, the Cavinder Twins made a bold declaration: they were preceding their final season of NCAA eligibility to pursue WWE stardom.

This decision was not just a professional pivot but also a financial gambit. Already social media phenoms with a following of 4.5 million on TikTok, the Cavinder Twins became among the first collegiate athletes to monetize their brand when the NIL era began in January 2021.

Since then, they've raked millions through diverse business ventures, from sponsorship deals to content creation. While Haley's recent announcement could throw a curveball into their WWE ambitions, it's worth noting that the sisters have always had the rare ability to excel in multiple arenas.

Haley's prospective return to NCAA basketball could offer her another platform to monetize her brand further while leaving the door open for a potential WWE career. With an audience as broad as MSN and Google News, this development raises several compelling questions.

Will Haley's return to basketball signal a long-term shift in career focus? And, perhaps most tantalizingly, what does this mean for the future of the Cavinder Twins in WWE? Only time will tell, but one thing is sure—whatever path they choose, it's bound to make headlines.
