In a candid conversation on WWE Deutschland, Cody Rhodes delved into the emotional rollercoaster that has been his recent WWE journey. Alongside Jey Uso, whom Rhodes personally drafted to Monday Night RAW, the duo snatched the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships from The Judgment Day at Fastlane 2023.

The victory was short-lived, however, as they dropped the titles back to The Judgment Day, thanks in part to interference by Jimmy Uso. Rhodes, aka "The American Nightmare," expressed his dissatisfaction with the recent title loss: "While it wasn't in our plans to lose the titles so soon, I can't ignore the reality of it.

I know that both Jey Uso's fans and my own are disappointed, as we had something special going. It's frustrating to have it come to an abrupt end."

In addition to discussing his recent stint as a tag champion, Rhodes gave a nod to the competitors that have kept him on his toes since last year's WrestleMania, including Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley.

"I've been continuously tested by these top-tier talents. It's an invigorating game, one you don't want to be on the losing end of, but exhilarating nonetheless," he added. Rhodes also hinted at the possibility of a title rematch with Jey Uso.

Turning his attention to Gunther, Rhodes reminisced about their intense clash during the Men's Royal Rumble match, which he won. While Rhodes lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, Gunther has been steadily climbing the ranks.

"Gunther has been a revelation since his main roster debut post-WrestleMania 38. We've yet to see his full potential, and he impresses week after week. Not the friendliest of competitors, but an extraordinary sports entertainer," said Rhodes.

Both stars are on diverging paths for now, but one thing is clear: Cody Rhodes is as passionate as ever, with a focus on the next chapter, even as he bears the weight of recent setbacks. Whether it's gunning for another shot at the tag titles or praising emerging talent like Gunther, Rhodes' tenure in WWE continues to be a story of resilience, ambition, and unfaltering dedication to his craft.
