Former WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland, known to wrestling fans as Edge, has set his sights on an ambitious global wrestling journey following his debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) on October 1st, 2023. This unexpected move has opened doors to opportunities he once deemed unattainable.

When Copeland delivered his retirement announcement on the April 11, 2011 episode of Raw, he never envisioned stepping back into the ring, let alone entertaining the idea of performing at iconic venues like the Tokyo Dome and Arena Mexico.

Even his surprise return at the 2020 Royal Rumble seemed distant from such dreams.

Edge's Global Wrestling Aspirations

In a recent appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Copeland expressed his eagerness to expand his wrestling horizons.

When asked about his interest in wrestling beyond AEW, he candidly shared his aspirations. "That’s pretty exciting, actually, you know, and again, a by-product of coming here is, oh wait. Hold on a second. Tokyo Dome. That’s on the checklist.

Arena Mexico, well, hold on, you know, because I went there once," Copeland explained. He fondly recounted an incident when he attended a Lucha Libre show at Arena Mexico in disguise while holding the World Championship. Now, he hopes to step into the ring there legitimately.

Copeland also hinted at the possibility of participating in New Japan Pro-Wrestling's prestigious G1 Climax Tournament, a tournament revered by wrestling enthusiasts worldwide. His move to AEW caught many, including his close friend Rey Mysterio, by surprise.

Mysterio expressed his shock, noting that he had spoken to Copeland just a week before the announcement, and there was no indication that he was planning to leave WWE. Copeland's transition to AEW has significantly expanded his wrestling horizons, as the promotion has connections to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, AAA, and recently CMLL.

His desire to wrestle in global wrestling landmarks and tournaments is not only a personal dream but also a testament to the ever-evolving landscape of professional wrestling. As Copeland embarks on this new chapter in his wrestling career, fans around the world eagerly anticipate witnessing him in action on even grander stages, making his dreams of the Tokyo Dome, Arena Mexico, and the G1 Climax Tournament potentially become a reality.
