In a grand gesture celebrating athletic excellence, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul "Triple H" Levesque, has continued his notable tradition of gifting bespoke WWE Championship belts to triumphant sports teams. This time, the honor was bestowed upon the Las Vegas Aces, who clinched victory in this week's WNBA Finals.
Under the sagacious guidance of Coach Becky Hammon, the Aces seized the WNBA Championship title for an impressive second consecutive season, prevailing over the New York Liberty with a 3-1 series victory in the Finals.
Levesque Celebrates Aces' Dynasty
Taking to social media to extend his heartfelt congratulations, Levesque hailed the Aces for carving out their own legacy in the realm of professional sports.
“Building their own dynasty... one championship at a time. Congratulations to the back-to-back @WNBA Champions, @LVAces,” expressed Levesque, capturing the momentous occasion. As evident from the images shared, the championship belt gifted to the Aces draws inspiration from the current WWE Women's Championship, adorned by IYO SKY, and tastefully incorporates the WNBA team’s logos on its side plates, adding a personalized touch.
This is not the first time WWE has reached out to the Las Vegas Aces with such a prestigious token of recognition.
The team received a WWE title last year as well, marking their victory in the WNBA finals. Earlier this year, Levesque’s generosity extended to the Archers Lacrosse Club, honoring their victory in the inaugural Premier Lacrosse League with a customized WWE title belt.
Preceding this, the Denver Nuggets and their star player, Nikola Jokic, were also celebrated for their first-ever NBA Championship victory, receiving their own bespoke belt. These champions, along with numerous other recipients of Levesque's signature title belts, have proudly showcased their unique trophies during their celebratory parades, embodying the spirit of victory and the close-knit ties between the worlds of professional wrestling and other sports.
This grand tradition, upheld by Triple H, not only highlights the WWE’s embrace of excellence across diverse sports but also fortifies its connection with fans and athletes around the globe.
