In a recent episode of "Busted Open Radio," wrestling veteran Bully Ray offered strategic advice for WWE regarding how to book the much-anticipated main event at Crown Jewel 2023. LA Knight, the company's rising star, is set to face off against the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.

Bully Ray argues that the WWE has a golden opportunity to propel Knight to superstardom, even in defeat. Bully Ray evoked the iconic WrestleMania 13 match between Bret Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin as a prime example of how a wrestler can actually benefit from a loss.

"I'm not saying LA Knight should pass out to a Sharpshooter," Ray clarified. "What I am saying is, look at how that match turned Steve Austin into a massive star, even though he lost. WWE can create the same magic for LA Knight if they play their cards right." The WWE Hall of Famer also emphasized that Roman Reigns has frequently relied on interference from other Bloodline members to retain his title over the years.

Ray suggests this could be the perfect avenue for WWE to earn LA Knight immense fan sympathy. "If you 'screw over' LA Knight in the right way, the fans will rally behind him even more. That's the beauty of wrestling psychology," he noted.

Ray's excitement for the main event was palpable, especially after last week's "WWE SmackDown" contract signing segment. In it, LA Knight showed no signs of nervousness and even dared to bring up Reigns' widely panned "Suffering Succotash" promo as a diss.

"That was the best promo I've heard from LA Knight," said Ray. "It showed another layer of his confidence. He wasn't searching for words; he knew exactly what he wanted to say and delivered." While Ray is fairly certain that LA Knight will not be leaving Crown Jewel with the championship belt, he remains optimistic about Knight's trajectory in WWE.

"Even in defeat, LA Knight has the chance to captivate the WWE Universe. That's the key to long-term success in this business," he concluded. Whether or not WWE takes Bully Ray's advice to heart remains to be seen, but there's no denying that the stakes for LA Knight and Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel 2023 are incredibly high.
