Wrestling legend Bully Ray has envisioned a dramatic storyline for the WWE universe, setting the stage for a monumental showdown at WrestleMania 40 between reigning titan Roman Reigns and challenger Cody Rhodes. The narrative Ray proposes is not just a clash for the title, but a saga of legacy and betrayal that could rival the most storied epics in WWE's history.

By the time next year's WrestleMania rolls around, Reigns' reign would have surpassed the 1,300-day mark, nearing the iconic 1,474-day record held by Hulk Hogan in the 1980s. The stakes are high, and Ray believes that the wrestler who finally topples "The Tribal Chief" will cement their place in the annals of WWE lore.

For such a historic moment, Ray emphasizes that the buildup must be meticulously crafted.

Betrayal in Bloodline

During a segment on "Busted Open," Ray spun a tale that could captivate the WWE audience: a betrayal within the Bloodline.

He teased the potential of Jey Uso turning against his own kin, setting the stage for a family drama that unfolds in the ring. In Ray's vision, the entire Anoa'i family would be ringside for Reigns' title defense in Philadelphia, only to witness his downfall.

"Imagine the scene," Ray proposed, "Cody Rhodes bests Roman Reigns, and the real defeat for Roman is losing the esteem of his lineage." He paints a vivid picture of the family turning away from Reigns, a visual metaphor for his lost honor.

But the twist doesn't end there. Ray conjures an image of the family parting ways atop the ramp, paving a path for none other than The Rock to make a grand entrance. "It's pure fantasy booking," Ray admits, "but it's a spectacle that would be etched in memory." While current predictions favor Rhodes to "finish the story" come next April, Ray acknowledges the unpredictable nature of wrestling narratives, hinting that WWE's Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development, Triple H, could pivot the storyline at any moment.

"Everything points to Cody's triumph," Ray stated, "but in the wrestling world, a sudden change of heart is just one decision away." With such a complex and emotionally charged storyline suggested by one of wrestling's most respected figures, the road to WrestleMania 40 promises to be a journey filled with intrigue, strategy, and the potential for a new legend to rise.
