WWE Survivor Series 2023 is shaping up to be an event filled with high-stakes matches and intense rivalries. In a recent twist, a new match has been added to the lineup, resolving some confusion that emerged during the November 6 episode of WWE Raw.

Fans witnessed a climactic four-way match to determine the number one contender for Gunther's coveted Intercontinental Championship. Initially, reports suggested a dual victory scenario involving The Miz and Ivar, leading to a tie-breaking match.

However, an unexpected turn occurred when Ricochet, after reportedly being disoriented during the match, inadvertently kicked out, resulting in The Miz being named the sole winner. This outcome led to some initial uncertainty about the match's status for Survivor Series.

Adding to the excitement, the November 6 WWE Raw also announced two more blockbuster matches for the November 25 Survivor Series event. In a highly anticipated face-off, Zoey Stark will challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship.

Additionally, fans can look forward to the return of WarGames, featuring an epic showdown between Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Judgment Day's Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh.

Gunther vs. Miz Confirmed

The Gunther vs. Miz match was conspicuously absent from WWE’s Survivor Series preview page initially, likely due to the earlier confusion. However, as of November 10, the match has been officially confirmed, adding another layer of intrigue to the Survivor Series lineup.

Interestingly, WWE is still scheduling a face-off between Miz and Ivar for the next Raw episode. This matchup stems not from their performance in the four-way match but rather from Ivar's post-match attack on Miz, an impromptu angle that has sparked further interest among fans.

Gunther, the reigning champion, will have held the title for an impressive 531 days by Survivor Series. In contrast, The Miz, an eight-time IC titleholder, boasts a combined reign of 592 days. Should The Miz emerge victorious, he will tie the record for the most reigns at nine, a record currently held by AEW's Chris Jericho.

The only WWE star to have a longer combined reign than The Miz is Pedro Morales, with 617 days. As the event approaches, WWE fans are eagerly anticipating these matchups, each promising to be a memorable addition to the storied history of Survivor Series.
