Former five-time WCW Tag Team Champion, Marcus "Buff" Bagwell, recently addressed reports surrounding his recent arrest and clarified the situation on social media. Bagwell revealed that he was arrested on November 16 and detained for 24 hours due to a violation of his DUI Court Program.

This development comes amid allegations of two misdemeanors – speeding and driving under the influence of drugs – in Cobb County, Georgia. However, Bagwell emphasized that these charges were actually related to his original offenses from three years ago.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Bagwell stated, "Still sober despite the reports – unfortunately, whenever I get a violation in the DUI Court Program, it lists my original offense from 3 years ago. I did serve 24 hours for losing my temper Thurs-Fri, and I'm working on keeping my cool every day." This isn't the first time Bagwell has had to address such reports.

Back in July, he responded to similar allegations of driving under the influence of drugs, revealing that at that time, he was already 11 months sober, and once again, the charges stemmed from the same offense dating back three years.

Wrestling Community's Support

Bagwell has been candid about his ongoing battle with alcohol and drug addiction. Notably, WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page, known for assisting other wrestlers like Jake "The Snake" Roberts, offered support to Bagwell, with discussions in March 2022 about Bagwell potentially moving in with DDP to address his addictions.

A prominent figure in the world of professional wrestling, Bagwell is best known for his tenure in WCW from 1991 to 2001, until WWE acquired the promotion. Although his WWE stint was brief, consisting of just one match, his legacy in WCW remains significant.

Bagwell's most recent in-ring appearance took place in January 2022 for WrestlePro Alaska. The wrestler's continued efforts to maintain sobriety and address his personal challenges are commendable. Bagwell's story serves as a reminder of the struggles faced by many in the world of professional wrestling and the importance of seeking help and support in times of need.

In related news, the wrestling community continues to rally behind Marcus "Buff" Bagwell as he works towards overcoming his challenges and maintaining his path to recovery. This support underscores the camaraderie and solidarity within the industry when it comes to helping wrestlers facing personal obstacles.
