In a highly anticipated announcement, AEW's CEO Tony Khan has unveiled the debut opponent for the promotion's newest star, Mariah May. Fans are buzzing with excitement as it's been revealed that May will face off against the formidable former GCW Women's Champion, Queen Aminata, in an electrifying match on this week's episode of "AEW Dynamite." This matchup promises to be a spectacular showcase of talent and skill, setting the stage for what could be a riveting bout.

Mariah May, a prominent figure in the wrestling world, had previously hinted at her debut during an engaging interview with Renee Paquette on last week's "Dynamite." While she expressed uncertainty about her first opponent at the time, the anticipation has only built since then.

The English wrestler, who joined AEW in November, has quickly become a notable presence in the promotion. She's been closely associated with her idol and current AEW Women's Champion, "Timeless" Toni Storm, even playing a role in Storm's recent feud with Riho.

May's involvement was highlighted during Storm's successful title defense against the first-ever AEW Women's Champion at last Saturday's Worlds End event.

May's Stellar Rise

At 25 years old, May's wrestling career has been marked by notable achievements.

Her last in-ring performance was on September 30, at the Stardom 5Star Grand Prix 2023 event, where she faced former Future Of Stardom Champion Hanan. Since her pro-wrestling debut in 2019, May has already made a name for herself as a former Goddesses Of Stardom Champion, showcasing her remarkable talent and determination in the ring.

Her opponent, Aminata, is no stranger to AEW fans, having previously competed in the promotion. Despite her last match on the December 22 episode of "AEW Rampage" resulting in a loss to Skye Blue, Aminata's skills and experience, including her time in AEW's sister promotion, Ring of Honor, make her a formidable opponent for May's debut.

In addition to this highly anticipated match, Tony Khan also announced other exciting bouts for this week's "Dynamite." Fans can look forward to Swerve Strickland facing off against Daniel Garcia, and Orange Cassidy defending his AEW International title against Dante Martin.

The upcoming episode, set to take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, is shaping up to be an unmissable event, featuring a blend of established stars and rising talents that continue to make AEW a thrilling spectacle for wrestling enthusiasts.
