These matches became a hallmark of his career, and his realization after the second TLC encounter at WWE WrestleMania X-7 in 2001 was a turning point.

He expressed concerns about desensitizing the audience and risking severe injuries as they continuously attempted to top previous performances.

Edge's TLC Epiphany: A WrestleMania Reflection

"It was that second TLC in Houston where I had the realization, we can't continue to try and top this," he explained. "A, they're going to get desensitized. Being the audience, they won't feel as special anymore, and in trying to top it, one of us will get injured." While Copeland didn't immediately transition into his "Rated R Superstar" persona, the seeds of change were sown during this period.

The evolution of this character, which began during his rivalry with Matt Hardy in the mid-2000s, ultimately catapulted Copeland into the main event scene of WWE. His journey as the "Rated R Superstar" saw him capture numerous championships and secure a place in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Despite his transformation into the "Rated R Superstar," Copeland continued participating in TLC matches, showcasing his versatility. Notable instances include his clashes against John Cena and The Undertaker at WWE Unforgiven and WWE One Night Stand in 2006 and 2008, respectively.

Interestingly, WWE has transformed the TLC concept into an annual pay-per-view event, emphasizing its enduring popularity among fans. Adam "Edge" Copeland's pivotal moment at WrestleMania X-7 shaped his legendary career, ultimately establishing him as one of WWE's most iconic figures.

His enduring contributions to the world of professional wrestling continue to be cherished and revered by fans worldwide, cementing his status as a true legend in the industry.
