Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle, renowned for his transition from amateur wrestling to the world of professional WWE wrestling in the late 1990s, recently shared a candid account of a pivotal moment in his career during a Q&A episode of "The Kurt Angle Show." While Angle's remarkable aptitude for the wrestling business earned him rapid recognition, he didn't escape the pitfalls of being a rookie, particularly when executing high-risk maneuvers like his iconic moonsault from the top of a steel cage.

Angle revealed, "The first time I ever did it, I got up there and I was like, 'This is not good.' " In a shocking turn of events, he inadvertently broke the arm of his opponent, Bob Holly, during the stunt. Angle came up short on the moonsault, causing his shins to collide with Holly's arm, resulting in a compound fracture.

Despite the shocking injury, Angle and Holly continued the match, demonstrating their resilience in the face of adversity.

Angle's Profound Regret

Reflecting on that nightmarish match, Angle expressed profound regret, saying, "I felt so badly that I ended up going to the hospital with Bob.

I ended up taking him back to his hotel room... I called him every day [and] made sure he was okay. I was doing everything I could to be so sincere to him because I felt so badly about breaking his arm." While it might seem reasonable for such an incident to strain their relationship, Angle and Holly remain on good terms to this day.

Angle's co-host, Paul Bromwell, humorously suggested they could start "talking s---" about Holly, to which Angle chuckled and cautioned against it, as Holly's reputation as a tough individual precedes him. Angle even recounted an anecdote of Holly once defending himself against Renè Duprèe over a parking dispute.

Kurt Angle's openness about this challenging moment in his career offers fans a rare glimpse into the highs and lows of professional wrestling. It serves as a reminder of the physical toll and risks involved in the sport, as well as the camaraderie that can emerge among wrestlers, even in the most trying circumstances.

Despite the unfortunate incident, Angle's dedication to Holly's well-being and their continued friendship demonstrate the resilience and sportsmanship that define the wrestling community.
