Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently shared an intriguing behind-the-scenes story about the day CM Punk and Vince McMahon were reportedly holed up in a room for several hours, leading to Punk's departure from the company in 2014.

This revelation came during the latest episode of Smack Talk, where Mantell recounted his attempt to meet with McMahon, only to find his efforts thwarted by the lengthy meeting between McMahon and Punk. CM Punk, a prominent figure in WWE known as 'The Best in the World', left the company in 2014 amid exhaustion and multiple grievances.

His exit was notably contentious, marking a significant moment in WWE history. However, Punk made a dramatic return at Survivor Series last year after nearly a decade away, reigniting interest and speculation about his relationship with the company and Vince McMahon.

Punk's Lengthy McMahon Meeting

Mantell's account provides a rare glimpse into the dynamics of that pivotal day. He described arriving with the intention of speaking to McMahon but found himself in a queue that gradually dwindled as Punk and McMahon remained locked in discussion.

Mantell recalled, "I've told the story about I went to talk to Vince that day and CM Punk kept him in the room for three hours, four hours. The line was kinda long, it went on and on and then the line got shorter and shorter.

When I'm sitting there, there was only two or three in front of me. I said, scr*w it, I'm never gonna get it there. And I didn't get in there that day and that was the day he left." The mystery surrounding that meeting and Punk's subsequent departure has long intrigued WWE fans.

Punk's return to the ring has only heightened this interest, as he continues to be a pivotal figure in the wrestling world. His upcoming appearance on WWE RAW and participation in the Royal Rumble match on January 27 has fans and pundits alike buzzing with anticipation.

As a favorite to win the Royal Rumble, Punk's journey from estranged star to celebrated returnee is a compelling narrative that continues to captivate the WWE universe.
