Kofi Kingston is the current WWE Champion and he recently spoke to Gamespot to promote the Steel Cage match that he will be a part of at a WWE Pay-per-view. The PPV will be stomping grounds. Dolph and Kofi have met each other in the ring before.
According to him, he almost had 500 matches with him over the years. "Honestly, Dolph is one of my favorite opponents, and I almost forgot how much I enjoyed competing against him," Kingston said. "Over the past few weeks, I've been able to do so on some of the live events, and back in 2000, I think it was 2009 all the way through 2010, we wrestled each other every single week on Raw and Smackdown” Kofi compared his feud with Dolph to Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart’s feud.
They battled each other for the WWE Intercontinental Title. Then they fought each other for the WWE Title at that time. "Back in the day, you had Shawn Michaels and Bret Hartgoing at it for the Intercontinental Championship, and then years, later they were doing the same thing for the WWE title as well," Kingston said.
Kofi Kingston is the first WWE Champion from Africa. He won the title by beating Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35. He had to work really hard to get the title shot. He spent nearly 11 years in the WWE before he got his shot.
