When the WWE Road to WrestleMania tour landed at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, it was a memorable night of action this past Saturday, February 17, 2024. And with marquee talents from both RAW and SmackDown, the night failed to disappoint, with some of the biggest matches and intense rivalries on tap.

Solo Sikoa would open the night against LA Knight in just another segment of the endless rivalry with The Bloodline. While Sikoa bested John Cena at Crown Jewel 2023, his recent performances had been on a downward trajectory in form, and this event did nothing to arrest it.

This outing, therefore, extended Sikoa's run of reversals, as The Megastar came out on top. Nia Jax made quick work of Maxxine Dupri to solidify standing when she meets Rhea Ripley in the Elimination Chamber 2024 contest. Meanwhile, the crowd got a nostalgia kick as Carlito made his first singles match in nearly 15 years in a house show.

And got the win against Austin Theory, who got distracted by the sudden interruption of R-Truth.

Gunther's Controversial Defense

In a marquee title match under the night's lights, Gunther defended the Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable.

The match would end controversially when Imperium interfered, causing a disqualification in favor of Gunther. It meant Gunther kept his title, but the chaos that ensued meant that Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston came to the rescue of Gable and it culminated in a six-man tag team match, which the fan favorites won.

Other highlights included Omos overpowering Akira Tozawa and Asuka outmaneuvering Michin in their respective matches. The main event of Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in a Street Fight had the people on their seats. In an epic fight that lived up to its billing, The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes sent the fans of Oakland happy with a victory. It was a night of thrilling action and one that set the stage for what is to come on the grandest stage of them all.
