The return of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to the WWE ring last month has brought back excitement and talks from wrestling fans and pundits. In a recent interview from "Busted Open Radio," former WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman aired his thoughts regarding the much-awaited return of Johnson to the wrestling arena.

He added that the return of The Rock will in fact bring a lot of energy back to the WWE and he hoped Johnson returns many more times to WWE. He added that Johnson's presence would give others motivation to step up their game and performances.

This notion is echoed in statements from wrestling great Mark "The Undertaker" Callaway regarding a more "laid back" atmosphere that has come about with the leadership of Paul "Triple H" Levesque, and which Callaway takes in a good spirit.

The Rock's Strategic Shift

In discussing more details about Johnson's strategic approach towards his career in wrestling, Coachman realized that Johnson was able to change box office numbers dramatically. He stated that whereas Johnson was occupied with a heel character at present, a strategic turn to a babyface character could help him a lot in enhancing his appeal and marketability significantly.

As Coachman mentioned, however, was how the character elements of wrestling were very fragile dynamics; how a strong villain, or "heel," could draw fans, and how changing to a "face," or hero, could reap huge monetary and fan base rewards.

He feels that the younger wrestlers should take note and see what can be accomplished in the dynamic character build. In a defining turn in his heel character on "WWE SmackDown," it was confirmed most recently that Johnson had entered into an allegiance with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.

With Reigns on the cusp of defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania 40, the wrestling world is abuzz with The Rock's potential involvement at this year's showcase of the immortals.

Johnson's strategic moves, evolution of character, and reinvention remain trend topics with fans and commentators—irrefutable is Johnson's standing as a powerhouse in the sport and the entertainment of wrestling.
