The arena had a special selection of five matches enjoyed by the WWE universe this year, all personally placed in the ring by Triple H, also known as The Game. One was just for the kickoff show, and that was supposed to set the mood up for a great beginning to the Premium Live Event.

The light was shining upon The Kabuki Warriors, the gritty duo of Asuka and Kairi Sane, who retained their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae came as highly credible opponents and tested them to the fullest but then failed to clinch this title.

The match was going in Australia, and that too for the girl's homecoming in Indi Hartwell, and therefore, it was an opportunity for a lifetime.

Triple H's Controversial Decision

The decision to keep the status quo as The Kabuki Warriors maintained their belts by WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H, has set tongues wagging.

Setting the match on home soil for Hartwell, it may serve as a feel-good gesture toward the large number of Australian fans who would have been contented with a win by the challengers but also added unpredictability to the event.

In any case, such a change would have attracted much publicity and written an exciting beginning for the rest of the show. A title change in Australia would in any case have also laid the basis of quite an interesting story: The chase to get back lost titles by The Kabuki Warriors.

Such an eventuality would further raise the stakes and the depth around the whole Women's Tag Team Championship saga, making every bout a must-watch. Aussies were thus champions on this night, even though the gold didn't change hands at Elimination Chamber, memorable moments especially for Australian fans coming in aplenty for Hartwell and LeRae.

The thunderous crowd support from the Optus Stadium firmly underlining the importance of local stars being represented at the marquee event. Looking at the future of WWE universe, one can't help but wonder if this won't become a final opportunity that Hartwell and LeRae get in their pursuit to take down The Kabuki Warriors.

The Elimination Chamber result just set the stage and showed a lot of promise in what is to come in the Women's Tag Team division as fans can't wait for the developments.
