We have seen a number of absolutely remarkable factions in the WWE over the years. Some of those factions held titles and made the WWE product extremely good. One of the factions that existed close to the Attitude Era was the Nation of Domination.

As their name suggests, they dominated the WWE locker room and some of its members went on to become champions. Some are even part of the WWE Hall of Fame.

The Nation of Domination allowed Dwayne Johnson to develop The Rock character.

Ron Simmons, who was one of the main member of the faction, spoke about it. He is also a WWE Hall of Famer. The faction included the Rock and Owen Hart as its members. Owen Hart was at the time one of the most popular wrestlers in the world.

His inclusion was praised in the group. People at the time were skeptical about his inclusion in the group. Ron believes that Owen was a perfect addition to the group. "Guess what? That's what made it work even better because he seemingly looked like he wouldn't be the guy that fit at all, which made it fit better!

Because people weren't looking at it," said the Hall of Famer. "You're talking about somebody that always was there for you, would interject the joke, and keep the locker room full of laughter when you was feeling bad, he was a very intricate addition in the group that kept things going and kept it fresh." When the group was formed, The Rock wasn’t as popular as he eventually became.

He was very entertaining since he stepped foot inside the WWE, however, he was far from the top of the company. Even back then, he could cut promos very effectively and his in-ring ability was also quite good. However, he was still developing The Rock character.

According to Ron, The Nation of Domination helped The Rock find his footing inside the WWE. "He was open to learning things and coming in and asking ideas of what he thought would work for him and hey, there was a way for him to come in and form his own identity -– which he did! So, it worked out perfectly for him in that regard and everyone else went on to do good."
