At a time when the Women's Revolution in WWE was turning everything upside down for females in sports, the dream match of the Four Horsewomen of WWE—Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, and Sasha Banks—now doing battle under the banner of "Mercedes Mone" in AEW always seemed to be just out of reach.

During a candid discussion on "The Unlikely Podcast with Adrian Hernandez," WWE Superstar Becky Lynch expressed her hope that the iconic match would get its due in the main event of WrestleMania one day. Lynch explained the special connection and common goal of the quartet in revolutionizing women's wrestling.

"We all had this singular vision for the future of women's wrestling and knew that no one person could do it alone. This was going to take unity, and indeed, it was our combined efforts that reshaped the landscape," said Lynch.

'Healthy competitive spirit' which marked their camaraderie was each one's effort to outdo the other and in the process, the whole lot of their division. "We believed that when we pushed each other to the limit in every drill, then we would all rise together, and exactly that is what happened," she adds.

Breaking Barriers

Looking back at some of the earliest challenges within WWE, Lynch identified the constraining norms that women's wrestling had long underdone—a locking into very short, stereotypical showcases. "We're not going to let them stick us with those old parts and those short matches.

We set out to redefine what women could do in the ring, and that's exactly what we did. Interestingly, while Mone shifted to AEW, her acknowledgment of a likely WWE return admitted just a crack of light for a dream match against her fellow Horsewomen.

This possibility keeps fans with bated breath with the hope that these trailblazing athletes might one day be under the banner of WWE again. With the wrestling world at large watching, this saga of the Four Horsewomen is continuously written and rewritten, transcending every gender barrier, perfectly encapsulating perseverance and reinvention that also exemplify the very essence of WWE's Women's Revolution.
