In a significant reshuffle during the first night of the 2024 WWE Draft on "WWE SmackDown," former NXT Tag Team Champions Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker were officially separated. This strategic move comes as Baron Corbin returns to "SmackDown" after spending a year in "WWE NXT" as a free agent.

Meanwhile, the promising Bron Breakker is set to make waves on "WWE Raw." Sources close to the matter, including insights from Fightful Select, suggest that the decision to split the duo stems from WWE's vision of Breakker as a standout singles competitor.

Meanwhile, Baron Corbin is poised for a fresh chapter in his career, likely featuring a revamped persona and storyline on his return to the main roster. Since signing a developmental contract with WWE in 2021, Breakker has been marked as a high-potential talent, an evaluation that only intensified with his remarkable achievements.

He clinched the NXT Championship twice and, alongside Corbin, triumphed in the 2024 Dusty Rhodes Classic before securing the tag titles. Notably, Breakker's prowess was on display on "SmackDown" where he achieved a swift 13-second victory over Cedric Alexander just last Friday.

Corbin's Rollercoaster Career

Corbin's trajectory has been equally noteworthy, albeit marked by more dramatic highs and lows. His main roster prominence began in 2016 when he emerged victorious in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32.

The following year, he captured the WWE United States Championship. Despite a faltered attempt to cash in his Money in the Bank contract at SummerSlam, Corbin's resilience shone through as he clinched the 2019 King of the Ring tournament.

However, this high was followed by a challenging period, culminating in his return to "NXT" last year. Corbin’s last significant appearance before this draft was against Pete Dunne in a Money in the Bank qualifier on "SmackDown" in June of the previous year, where he faced a quick defeat in under two minutes.

This strategic realignment in the WWE Draft underscores the organization’s ongoing efforts to optimize talent trajectories and storyline potential, setting the stage for what fans can anticipate to be an electrifying year in professional wrestling.
