CJ Perry, previously known to wrestling fans as Lana, is currently in the midst of shooting a new film where she assumes the thrilling role of an assassin. The AEW star and actress took to X/Twitter to share glimpses of her schedule and tease the involvement of an iconic actress in the project, sparking widespread speculation and excitement among her followers.

In her latest Hollywood endeavor, Perry isn't just another character in the tapestry of the narrative; she is one of the lead assassins, a significant departure from her previous persona in the wrestling world. Known for her vibrant pink outfits and dramatic in-ring storylines in WWE, Perry's new role is starkly different.

"It's definitely a cool departure from WWE where I was always in pink and getting my a--- whooped. Here, I'm whooping all these big men's a---, and I'm in black," Perry revealed in an interview with Wrestling Inc. Furthermore, she disclosed that her character draws inspiration from none other than WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker.

Hollywood Role Evolution

While details about the film and its other cast members remain tightly under wraps, Perry's transition to a grittier, action-packed role signifies her growing stature in Hollywood. This project, in collaboration with Paramount, showcases her versatility and ambition to evolve beyond the wrestling ring into more complex and physically demanding roles.

Perry's move to the silver screen follows in the footsteps of other wrestling superstars who have successfully pivoted to acting. Notables such as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, John Cena, and Hulk Hogan have all carved out substantial careers in film, crossing over from the squared circle to the big screen with significant acclaim.

Adding to her eventful year, Perry attended the grand spectacle of WrestleMania XL, held on April 6 and 7 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Despite not appearing on camera, Perry was among several prominent AEW stars present at the event, and she made a point to acknowledge Stephanie McMahon's surprise appearance during the show.

With Perry's departure from WWE in 2020 followed by her ex-husband, Miro, in 2021, fans remain intrigued by the possibility of their return to the wrestling powerhouse. However, as Perry continues to embrace new challenges in her acting career, her trajectory seems to be set towards expanding her presence in Hollywood and exploring new artistic avenues.
