In an exhilarating finale to the WWE King of the Ring Tournament, the stage is set for a clash of titans as Raw's formidable former Intercontinental Champion, GUNTHER, goes head-to-head with SmackDown's veteran and 14-time WWE World Champion, Randy Orton.

This much-anticipated battle is scheduled to light up the WWE King And Queen of the Ring Pay-Per-View event in Saudi Arabia on May 25th. GUNTHER secured his spot in the finals after a fierce contest against Jey Uso in the last episode of Raw before the prestigious event.

Meanwhile, Randy Orton emerged victorious in a dramatic face-off with The Bloodline's Tama Tonga on WWE SmackDown, held in Jeddah. Despite interference from Solo Sikoa, Orton managed to deliver a decisive RKO to Tonga, sealing his win with a pinfall.

The upcoming duel between Orton and GUNTHER marks a first-ever meeting in the ring, stirring excitement among fans who regard it as a dream match. In a WWE Digital Media Exclusive, Orton shared his thoughts with Kayla Braxton about facing GUNTHER.

"It's going to be hard-hitting, possibly the toughest match since my return. It's definitely going to be a war, but a perfect test to see how much my body can handle," Orton expressed.

Orton's Harrowing Recovery

Reflecting on his journey, Orton revealed the challenges he faced following a serious back injury in mid-2022 that almost ended his career.

Top neurologists advised him to consider retirement to avoid lifelong discomfort. "The initial months were mentally taxing, knowing I might never wrestle again," Orton recounted. Despite this, his remarkable recovery led him back to the ring at Survivor Series in November 2023.

Now, with the King of the Ring title within reach, Orton is not just fighting for a crown but also to prove his resilience. "I’m here to show that despite the years, I can still compete with the best," Orton stated confidently.

As the WWE universe gears up for this monumental event, all eyes will be on Saudi Arabia to witness a match that promises not only to entertain but to epitomize the spirit and passion of professional wrestling.
