In what could be a massive move to reinvent the landscape of All Elite Wrestling, Tony Khan reportedly has former WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet amid his considerations to compete in the 2024 event for Blood and Guts.

The speculations come at a time when so much noise is being made that Ricochet might be nearing the end of his engagement with WWE, thus opening up possibilities for one of AEW's most brutal and highly-anticipated events.

The speculation picked up pace after remarks by Nicholas Jackson of The Elite on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Jackson pointed out what the group had done recently, including their win at Double or Nothing 2024, before he cut an intense promo challenging any of the talent in AEW to bring their best game when it mattered most: Blood and Guts on July 24.

Although the opponents for this about have not been confirmed, a highly talented athlete with fame like Ricochet would raise the stature of the event exponentially, bringing an all-new aspect to the ongoing stories within AEW.

As shown in reports, his contract will expire next month after six years at WWE and ending up as a free agent, so obviously, there's tons of speculation about what Ricochet will do next.

Ricochet's WWE Farewell?

A potential departure was teased within Monday's RAW broadcast, featuring a segment that fans and experts alike believe may have been written to write him off of WWE storylines.

In the hard-fought loss to Bron Breakker, which sent Ricochet to the medical facility, commentators and fans alike speculated if this was the end of his chapter with WWE. From Prince Puma to jaw-dropping Blood and Guts-style matches, Ricochet has skills already forged in a high-stakes, high-drama setting.

That makes him, by any estimation, an exciting prospect within the AEW roster. The promise of his record of exciting matches could combine with an apparent storyteller's ability via physical performance abilities and serve to drive down an event regarding Blood and Guts to a whole new level.

While AEW fans look forward to the confirmation, the question of which faction Ricochet should align with remains continuous. Recently, Swerve Strickland rejected the invitation to join The Elite, and now it might turn out to be Blood and Guts.

With Adam Page, better known as "Hangman," setting up his return and nurturing an ambition to pair off with The Elite, things in AEW have grown to be as unpredictable as possible.
