The high-stakes "I Quit" match during the dramatic spectacle at Clash at the Castle was something WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray reacted to, featuring AJ Styles against the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. This intense showdown was one in which Cody Rhodes, also called "The American Nightmare," could successfully defend his title against "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles with a strategy that left fans in shock and very well entertained.

The about finally picked up when Rhodes managed to handcuff Styles to the ropes, putting him in a terrible situation of peril. Still holding the steel steps and standing over Styles, Rhodes looked down and forced him to say, "I Quit," to concede the battle.

This moment—defined by sheer fear in Styles' eyes and Rhodes', ready to strike—sealed this ending as unique for this particular setup of an "I Quit" match.

Bully Ray's Match Insights

Appearing on "Busted Open Radio," Bully Ray reflected on the ingenuity of the finish at the match's finale.

"The mere intent was enough to draw the quit from AJ. The anticipation of the blow with the steps, that fear it instilled, was brilliantly executed," Bully commented. He continued describing the raw emotion of the scene by using dramatic tension that had indeed come alive on the faces of fans, who reacted thunderously to the unexpected result.

However, Bully Ray cut a promo on Rhodes following the win, where he continued to hit Styles with the steps after the match was already won. Bully wrote, "I didn't love Cody hitting AJ with the steps post-match. It seemed unnecessary.

Cody's real moment came when he didn't use the steps but stood upon them and soaked in the crowd's adulation as they sang his theme. The natural chorus of the fans would've been more powerful had it not been languished by his theme music." The aftermath of this match set the scene for a lot of future confrontations.

Rhodes ended up face-to-face with Solo Sikoa. The well-timed intervention of Randy Orton and Kevin Owens cut off this ode to an ambush by The Bloodline. Well, while the WWE universe is abuzz, it's full of speculation. The question remains as clear as mud: who's next to challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship? One thing, however, is obvious : the storyline is entire of potential, and this match's fallout will be felt in storylines for a long time.

After all, the chapter of WWE history didn't turn up displaying how deep in strategy and the zest of emotion wrestlers bring into the ring; it set a new benchmark for the drama and unpredictability an "I Quit" can hold.
