John Cena left the whole world dumbfounded, in the last PLE aired Saturday night by WWE in Canada, with the Chain Gang leader announcing that 2025 will be the last year on the pro-wrestling ring for him and then retire from wrestling wrestled.

After more than 20 years of career in the McMahon family ring and after starting a prolific adventure in Hollywood, John Cena has decided together with the WWE to hang up his boots, with fans of the company who were surprised by the announcement, even though it had been in the air for some time.

But who knew about this announcement on the eve of Money in the Bank? According to reports in the last hours by Sean Ross Sapp of the site Fightful, many did not know backstage within the WWE that Cena would talk about his retirement at MITB, until they saw the merchandising with the phrase "The Last Time is Now" for sale at WWE banquets.

Although the news had been in the air for some time, it was kept confidential within WWE, with very few people knowing about it. The farewell tour of Cena seems that it has not been organized yet, with the athlete who will participate in different events and different matches, alternating with periods in which he will still be absent from the ring, to continue his career in front of the American cinema cameras.

The WWE is still going to advertise very heavily this farewell tour, as it did with Kurt Angle a few years ago, with Dinner that will return to be the absolute protagonist of the scenes in WWE, maybe also aiming some world title.

John Cena shocked the world

During his speech at the post Money in the Bank press conference, however, John Cena was also asked if he could ever become a 17-time world champion before retiring. Well: the Bostonian said that such an opportunity, if it existed, must be earned.

" I would love this opportunity - admitted John Cena -. Opportunities like this, however, are earned on the field. Considering my past record, I have work to do. So, connecting me to what I said tonight about great opportunities, guys, the Royal Rumble, is a great business card.

Even Elimination Chamber could say its, represents another great opportunity. As I said, wrestlemania will not be my last stop. There is also Money in The Bank, an additional great opportunity".
