WWE fans can breathe a sigh of relief: Finn Balor, former Universal Champion and now a veteran of the WWE locker room, announced his decision to stay with the company as early as April 2024. This type of decision, with the contract expiring, appeared far from certain considering also the long series of important defeats accumulated over the last few months, until recently he returned to be the champion of pairs with JD McDonaugh.

Instead, Finn Bálor was very clear with his supporters, as you can see from the post he published on X at the time. There the Irish expert had made public his gratitude to WWE for a decade together, adding, "I would like to take this moment to say thank you to WWE for 10 incredible years.

And after thinking about it and thinking about it, I decided that now is the right time to say that I will not go anywhere!". After this, interviewed on What’s The Story, the wrestler confirmed that he had renewed for five years: "Yes, I extended the contract for another five years.

I’m very excited because when I was 20, I remember saying to myself that if I got to 30, I could do a great job. Now that I’m in the 40’s, I’m amazed they still want me to fight, and I wondered if I could still do all this, even physically."

Finn Balor went on to say, "We sat down, we had a couple of conversations, and the feelings were mutual.

I wanted to stay, they wanted me to stay. We made the deal, and I couldn’t be happier. It was a weird time. It had been six months since my contract was about to expire. 'Gee, is the end of my run? Is it time to move on?' Ten years is amazing.

I lasted six years in England and I thought, 'Whatever I do, England will always be the greatest chapter of my career.' Then I went to Japan for eight years. 'You lasted eight years in Japan. This will definitely be the most important period of my career.'

Then, I went to WWE to see what would happen, and I told myself that maybe I would do the last two or three years and then go back to Ireland or Japan. Now, I’ve been inside for ten years with another five years to come, fingers crossed I won’t be fired. It’s a pretty crazy trip."
