Bayley on idolizing Hardy Boys

On May 19, 2019, at Money in the Bank, Bayley won the women's Money in the Bank ladder match, granting her a women's championship match at any time of her choosing. Later that night, after Charlotte Flair defeated Becky Lynch to win the SmackDown Women's Championship, Lynch was attacked by Flair and Lacey Evans.

Bayley came out to save Lynch and fended off both Flair and Evans. With Flair down, Bayley cashed-in her contract and won the SmackDown Women's Championship for the first time. The win made her the first WWE Women's Grand Slam winner in WWE history.

At Stomping Grounds, Bayley successfully retained her title against Alexa Bliss. Bayley retained the title over Bliss and Nikki Cross in a Handicap match. Bayley will defend the Smackdown Women's Championship against Ember Moon at SummerSlam, after Ember accepted her challenge on July 17 Smackdown Live.

In a long interview with Kristine Leahy, the Smackdown Women’s Champion commented on idolizing Hardy Boys: “Kind of [it’s happened], yeah. Jeff Hardy, we were at WrestleMania, and he was congratulating Sasha and I on being the tag team champions.

And I just couldn’t believe that one half of my favorite tag team was congratulating me for being a tag champion, and saying his daughter wanted to meet us, because his daughter loves us. I just can’t wrap my head things like around it. It’s just beautiful”.
