On the July 5th episode of WWE Speed, WWE star Xavier Woods challenged Andrade for the WWE Speed Championship. The two gave fans a very intense match despite the reduced minutage, going back and forth in dominating, with the member of the New Day who took control in the first minutes, But in the end Andrade recovered by scoring with his elbow in rotation and his finisher The Message, going to pin the opponent and thus maintaining the title.
Obviously at that point WWE had to find a new challenger, and respecting the format that is WWE Speed, a show with three minutes of matches and five titles that only takes place exclusively on the app X, a tournament was called to find the next competitor, and won it was Baron Corbin who went against the champion in the July 24th episode.
Unfortunately for the former King Corbin, however, the Mexican ace has confirmed himself once again champion with such belt by flipping an End Of Days to make it a Crucifix pinning for victory. With this victory and counting his reign days, Andrade is the longest-running Speed champion so far, although it takes little since the first Ricochet champion lasted less than a month because of his expired contract with the federation.
WWE seems interested in making big changes
During the call of TKO investors, as reported by Fightful, TKO chairman Mark Shapiro gave his credits to former WWE champion Paul Levesque (Triple H) for his work at the creative level and revealed that Nick Khan is working with some new business.
"Triple H has done a great job creatively in WWE. He has managed Friday Night SmackDown, Monday Night Raw and NXT. We are talking to other content providers about many more short-form content, a set of offers that Nick Khan is working on and we will announce all in due time."
WWE has been working hard in recent years to revamp its product after Vince McMahon’s departure and the new era started by Triple H.
