Commenting on Roman Reigns' return to SummerSlam, Cody Rhodes himself had thought during the press conference after the PLE: "I don’t want to fill the room with positive clichés about the return of real Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. But no doubt, the match would probably have gone differently, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here with the title if it wasn’t for Roman Reigns.
So it definitely fits the list of people I owe something to. I could be in debt to him on more than one thing. I haven’t seen or spoken to him since WrestleMania. I think the WWE fans, the wrestling fans, the WWE universe wanted it and SummerSlam gave them this and I’m always very happy about that".
Roman Reigns is on fire
At this year’s SummerSlam, we saw the latest resounding return of Roman Reigns, after months of absence, from his last WresteMania 40 bout, where Reigns was defeated by Cody Rhodes, to give him the WWE title, in one of the most memorable main events of the Showcase of the Immortals.
After his return to the scene, it was also expected the return of Reigns to SmackDown, tonight, with the Bloodline that had been warned about the thing. At the end, after a promo by Solo Sikoa, who initially seemed to have said that Reigns was not in the arena, the music of the Tribal Chief Oiginale resonated in the arena, with Reigns making his entrance, going immediately to attack Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, with the entrance ladder to the ring, then go directly to Solo Sikoa present in the ring.
In the end, Solo was saved by his henchmen, on the most beautiful, that is when Reigns was going to hit him with the Spear. After being distracted by his typical Samoan necklace, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa attacked Reigns again from behind, with the real Tribal Chief who managed to defend himself, striking both of them with a sonorous spear, thus closing the show at SmackDown, Only looked at him from the entrance of the ramp, at due distance.
