The most dated wrestling fans remember as a milestone what happened in Montreal on Sunday, November 9, 1997 in the main event of Survivor Series. What is remembered as "the Screwjob of Montreal" belongs to the most controversial episodes in the history of Pro Wrestling. To this event was also dedicated a documentary entitled "Wrestling With Shadow" in which it tells part of the intrigue of power that has conspired against Bret "The Hitman" Hart, who after that match against Shawn Michaels would definitely say goodbye to the WWF to land in WCW.
Host of the podcast "Attitude Era" Bret Hart, interviewed on it, has made statements especially about an episode of that night which, 27 years later, he never regretted and has no intention to regret.
Bret Hart is a true legend
The better-informed know that this situation did not end well: Bret Hart, furious, did not change his plans but at least took away the satisfaction of putting his hands on Vince McMahon, author of everything that had happened, and punch him in the face.
"Vince thought he was going to expose me," said Bret Hart. "He was about to confront me and wanted me to turn around and go my way. For him it was a gamble: he thought he would try to have an altercation with me and make sure that everyone watched and tried to avoid the worst and then act as if I could not beat him".
Bret Hart’s account of those heated moments continues and the Canadian explains that he really had a few seconds to think about what to do. "I didn’t accuse him and I didn’t say anything else," Bret Hart continued. "We got close to each other like it was a wrestling match, we stuck together and I finally knocked him out with a punch. It was the best fist I ever hit, an absolutely beautiful uppercut with which I lifted him about a foot off the ground. Broke my hand, but it was the sweetest punch I ever threw and I wouldn’t change anything about it".
