In a recent episode of his "83 Weeks" podcast, wrestling icon Eric Bischoff discussed the story behind the Four Horsemen, one of the most popular factions in wrestling history. The original lineup was composed of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson and Tully Blanchard. Nevertheless, there have been many changes seen in this group over the years with some successful than others. One of these less favored additions was Paul Roma who drew heavy criticism from fans upon his inclusion in this gang.

Another listener referred to Terry Taylor as an even worse choice for the Four Horsemen among wrestlers from Roma’s era. However, Bischoff addressed this theory by commenting about Taylor, where he admitted that although their friendship was “weird’’, he really respected Taylor's ring knowledge.

“He had a great experience and was around key figures in an important era,” said Bischoff concerning Taylor’s involvement with professional wrestling, which has morphed into what it is today.

Taylor Illustrious Career

Taylor had a long and illustrious career that saw him win numerous belts and undertake different backstage roles. Between 2003 and 2011, Taylor served as a road agent/producer/trainer/interviewer/director of talent relations for TNA. Owing to his wealth of experience within wrestling circles, he commanded much respect.

Speaking on Terry being more valuable now than ever before, according to Bischoff, despite not concealing some blemishes with the wrestler, “He was his own worst enemy. And because of that, Terry never really reached the level of success that he was quite capable of achieving.”

Taylor’s looks, ring psychology and believable style were all highlighted by Bischoff who also pointed out that he cut good promos too. Nevertheless, something always seemed missing where Taylor was concerned according to Bischoff. This is what prevented him from becoming a real member of the Four Horsemen as mentioned by Bischoff.

According to Bischoff, though, Taylor could have been as successful as a few others in the wrestling profession had he maximized his full potential.
