A few hours ago came out a news that left the whole world of professional wrestling bewildered when TMZ reported that Artem Chigvintsev, dancer and husband of Nikki Bella, was arrested for domestic violence.
According to TMZ, the county records where he was found indicate that Artem Chigvintsev was released at 2:18 pm after his arrest. The incident began early in the morning when someone at Chigvintsev’s home called 911 around 8:30 a.m., reporting a "medical emergency." However, before the emergency services could arrive, a second call was made from the house, cancelling the request for assistance. As a result, paramedics and firefighters were re-directed to their stations without ever reaching the scene.
By 10:00, the situation worsened, leading to the arrest of Artem for a crime of bodily harm to a spouse or cohabitant. For such an accusation to be presented as a criminal offence, visible injuries must be present before the competent authorities. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence call in Yountville, California, just before 10:00 on Thursday, and delegates made an arrest at the scene.
Fans worried about Nikki Bella
While the injuries have been confirmed, the identity of the victim remains undisclosed, as he would have requested utmost confidentiality. The investigation is still ongoing, so we do not know if it is indeed Nikki Bella the victim or not. After his arrest, Artem Chigvintsev was taken into custody and jailed in Napa County on Thursday morning. Now he has been charged with a criminal offence of domestic assault.
In a second update by TMZ, we learn that the alleged victim of violence by the dancer is collaborating closely with the police while the investigation is still ongoing. Hoping nothing serious happened to Nikki Bella or her son, or any other people involved, we await further updates and hope they can be positive.
Two great protagonists of the women’s division of WWE a few years ago are definitely Nikki Bella and her sister Brie. The twins have been very successful in the ring, especially Nikki who was the longest-standing champion of the Divas. In 2020, the Bella Twins were also inducted into the Hall of Fame. However, despite their incredible popularity, both are often criticized.
