The main event of WWE Bash In Berlin ended with the confirmation as World Heavyweight Champion of the leader of the Imperium, Gunther. The confrontation between him and Randy Orton, very intense and of great impact, was for the Austrian an approval stamp on his title reign.

After the Premium Live Event, Gunther gave his opinion to Gorilla Position (and transcribed by Inside Ropes) both on the match and on Randy Orton, and his statements indicate how much respect and satisfaction he has approached this meeting and the exchanges that preceded it. During the interview, we could not help asking the Ring General what his opinions were about his victory and his opponent, and Gunther certainly did not spare himself in the comments.

“It was fantastic," he said. "It was exactly what it should have been: two heavyweights who left everything in the ring and for me, before the match, it was a great personal challenge. But actually Randy is the man. He’s one of the greatest of all time, an absolute legend in our business... So yes: being with him and being able to beat him in that ring is a mark of approval for me and my reign as champion".

Gunther then spoke about Randy Orton is how they are actually similar. "He has more experience than anyone else and I always think that, first of all, a good wrestler stands out: when he enters a room people turn around to look, and I think Randy is the kind of person who, wherever he is in the world, will stand out and emerge from the crowd.

All this, combined with his high-level skills, efficiency in what we do out there and understanding the significance of the little things that happen outside it makes him stand out. But on the other hand I also think it’s something that distinguishes me: from a wrestling point of view we are not so different from each other, contrary to how we were at a personal level. So yes: there are a lot of wrestlers out there from whom I can learn something and Randy is definitely one of them".
