Damian Priest has been one of the notable prospects since he moved from the “WWE NXT” mystique to WWE main roster. Since the time he entered and later on became a captain of The Judgment Day faction, and won the World Heavyweight Championship, a lot has happened in his career. He is presently in a forceful feud with the latest version of his former faction of which Rhea Ripley is also a member.

Nonetheless, Priest focused his energy on timing issues in particular because his finishing move would have to get disallowed due to the return of Cody Rhodes to WWE. Staying with the subject of improvisation, during the “Insight” podcast hosted by Chris Van Vliet, Priest was asked about his finisher ‘The Reckoning’ being compared to Rhodes’s Cross Rhodes and how that created ‘biographical’ heat for him.

Finisher Change Suggested

Damian Priest divulged that “They did not come for sequestered librarians and proclaim, You can’t do it anymore. It seemed more like a suggestion policy because they are telling you that perhaps it is time to try something else but nothing clear was stated. Even Rhodes, a portrayal that Priest finds incredible, is said to have perceived no urgency for the need to take that move out of the bag of tricks.

The need for a change registered with Priest when he reflected on how much more trouble this might create for the fans because their finishes look pretty similar. He explained, 'If Cody is back and I'm doing this move, every time I do it has a chance to touch a connection to him.'

Priest expanded that both moves are in fact modifications of a Rolling Cutter only their techniques are different. "Cody Rhodes highlights the arms but whereas there is also spinning under and taking my arm out, which is more my style," he remarked.
