During a recent chat with ComicBook’s Haley Miller, AJ Lee was asked to comment on the ongoing storyline in WWE between her husband CM Punk and opponent Drew McInyre, as she herself has been mentioned several times along with their dog Larry, with their names written on the famous bracelet.
In her response, the former wrestler made a confession that might even shock fans a little, admitting: "I say this as affectionately as possible: I have no idea what’s going on [laughs]. I’m weird because I kind of don’t want to see my husband fight live because I’m scared. It’s sort of a strange manifestation of good omen”, said AJ.
"But mostly I focus on women’s stuff, because that’s what interests me. So my husband lets me know who the cool girl of the moment is. And I’m so obsessed with people. Like Bayley and Naomi. Those are my girls. So that’s what I’m interested in. I don’t know what is going on in that storyline [between Punk and McInytyre]. My dog is famous all of a sudden! I just got informed that there will be merch about it. But it’s nice. I’m happy that he’s happy and healthy and doing great. I’m proud."
AJ Lee opens up on CM Punk
AJ Lee had a huge following on the ring of WWE, so that the girl was one of the few that were also inserted in the male storylines of the time, with famous characters such as John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan and the same CM Punk. After retiring from the pro wrestling world, AJ began a brilliant career as a writer and producer in WOW, but never came back to perform.
In a recent interview, Roxanne Perez admitted that CM Punk is trying to convince his wife to come back to WWE actively with her: "Definitely, yes, I’m trying (to talk to CM Punk about getting AJ back) but he told me that he’s doing the exact same thing. He’s trying to bring her back, he’s pushing a lot, but I hope that one day he will decide to come back and maybe have a match with me".
