Kelani Jordan, who is still the Women’s North American Champion, is getting into the new era of WWE NXT from The CW. On Tuesday’s edition of ‘NXT’, Jordan defended her title against Wren Sinclair, who is a member of the No Quarter Catch Crew (NQCC). Christine Sinclair earned this title shot after being advised by Heritage Cup Champion Charlie Dempsey to pursue an opportunity to prove herself within their faction.
Sinclair wasted no time following Dempsey's advice. Last week, on the other hand, she got through the Jordan interview and slapped the champ, demanding the fight backstage. Since they were last targeted in their great match, they opened the show and had NQCC by the ring to help Sinclair.
Jordan Turns Momentum
In the match, Sinclair found herself on the offensive early on as she dictated the pace and Jordan reacted to her. The control would now switch to Jordan when she hurled over the top rope into Sinclair with a cross-body, leading into a picture-in-picture commercial break.
Then, shortly after the break, Sinclair was back in the game when she countered Jordan’s trademark split-legged moonsault. However, Jordan wasn’t going to let this ruin her plans, so she climbed to the top rope for her frog splash. She misfired, and as a result, Sinclair got yet another chance. Sinclair went for broke and tried to dive outside the ropes. However, he found nothing but the team of NQCC. It was a mistake that proved very costly.
When everything quieted down in the ring, Jordan decided it was time to strike. She executed her split-legged moon sault without any hitches and clinched the title her firmly in her grips.
Since Jordan stunned the wrestling audience and media at the NXT Battleground for first winning the Women’s North American Championship in history, she has dominated as a defending Women’s North American champion. Recently, she has had a list of successful title defenses against women like Izzi Dame, Wendy Choo and TNA Wrestling’s Rosemary.
