Bully Ray, who is a WWE Hall of Famer, is prominently known for portraying a heel. In the earlier parts of his career, he retired the stuttering gimmick and took on a villainous one, thanks to Paul Heyman, who owned the ECW. By doing so, the New Yorker had earned the ire of the audiences who were ready to kill him.
On an episode of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray explained his wish to somebody that he would love to see as a heel in WWE, who has not yet taken that road. He brought up one of the most veteran members of the locker room, Natalya Neidhart.
"I want to see a real Nattia Neidhart heel run,'" said Bully Ray. "And with all the young talents in the WWE and Nattie being the elder statesman, she would be able to rattle the cages so well."
Natalya Recent Return
Natalya most recently appeared on WWE television on September 9 with Lyra Valkyria and Zelina Vega in a WWE Raw match against the Pure Fusion Collective, after more than three months of absence. But Bully Ray suggested that Natalya would be able to do that quite well, albeit in a more modern, darker character.
“I understand: Nattie walks in, and the fans stand up and scream, ‘Yippee Nattie. But what is the end in sight? What is the character of Nattie right now?” Bully inquired. “I do believe she would fully commit to her character’s revamp and choose to be a proper heel. It’s my conviction that she would flourish and hit a grand slam.”
Even as Bully Ray was excited about what Natalya could do, his Busted Open Radio co-host, Dave LaGreca, was more skeptical that the WWE would have anything significant for the 42-year-old veteran wrestler at this point in her career. Regardless of this, Natalya recently renewed her contract with the promotion, where she has been active since 2007.
