Since their title clash at Bad Blood, Atlanta, damian Priest is the first man to pin Finn Balor in a WWE ring. That match witnessed Priest taking on Balor for the first time since his ally betrayed him and deprived him off the World Heavyweight Championship at a match against Gunther.
Both competitors could engage the audience with eggs and balloons in such back-and-forth action that the audience themselves checked that they were not in Philadelphia. Just as the end of the match drew nearer, Priest appeared to be taking control of the match. Members of The Judgment Day scaled in, knowing their comrade was in trouble, and started interfering in the fight against Nelson. Carlito entered the ring to distract the ref, making it easier for JD McDonagh to sneak from the back and attack Priest. Taking advantage of the situation, Balor precisely performed his finishing move, the Coup De Grace.
Priest Overcomes Chaos
Despite that, Damian was no one beaten and was able to kick out before the in-fighters were settled down in pin attempt. During the match chaos, McDonagh was actually passing the steel chair to Balor as Carlito was still trying to the distraction of the referee. However, in the tension-fraught scene, men lying piled on other Men had taken quite a stalker and fath. All focused upon Balor frantically swung the chair at and managed to pull it out.
This allowed Balor to sit on Priest’s back and hit a coup de grace for the second time. Not happy with the first two tries, Finn went for a third coup de grace; however, this time around, Priest was up to the task.
Priest hit him with a vicious South of Heaven chokeslam and, this time, was pinned down for the victory and the narrowest over Balor’s former associate. This fight was significant during the night as Priest was the first to take the lead over The Judgment Day with a score of 1-0.
Onward in the night, attention was drawn to Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley who was going to contest for the WWE Women’s World Championship.
