The wrestling promotion Company TNA wrestling grew its fame with the use of the six-sided ring. However, with time, the company started using the normal four-sided ring which up to this day is the current norm. There are those who still wish in feeding their six-sided ring fantasies, but now retired pro Eric Young shed light as to why that would ever happen, the reasons being, financial and technical.
Young narrates the difficulty of restoring the six-sided ring during an interview. I agree six-sided rings are bound to exist somewhere. Eric Young elaborated. There are these other disadvantages. In this case, you have a truck going from coast to coast flatbedding this six sided ring. ‘When we go to towns, we use rings that lie there in the place and then dress them up to look like the TNA ring. So the TNA ring looks like the TNA ring , but the ring is never the same; it is a different TNA ring in a different city. So there is this whole other cost involved.’
Six-Sided Ring Rarity
He further noted that while such rings were once the rage in wrestling, they have now become a rare breed. If TNA could even consider the option of TNA returning a one-sided belt, they would most probably have to do it from ground zero, and it would be much more than making do with the usual three-sided belt. In addition. However, Eric Young admitted that a majority of the wrestlers did not care much for the six-sides shape, even though people such as Kurt Angle appreciated its novelty.
Eric Young admitted that TNA, currently known as Impact Wrestling, has lost its popularity compared to its transitory period. Earlier, the shows used to draw bigger houses and better TRPs. Still, however, he is of the opinion that the organization is back on the growth path with more and more impressive active roster members willing to give their all.
