In a recent interview, Eric Bischoff opined on the Bad Blood 2024 PLE with excitement. The elder earned significant fame with WCW and fondly recalled the neat aspect of the show, particularly how Goldberg had just come out of nowhere. On his podcast, 83 Weeks, he referred to Goldberg’s presence as a freaking stroke of brilliance.
Bischoff, in the show, gave a quick rejoinder on the brief encounter of WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER with Goldberg which he said was one of his favorites. “I thought it was a beautiful moment and so well freaking done from a wrestling storytelling perspective, very satisfied,” he stated. His next course was to compare it to a movie made with much creativity and skill, with whispers of impact. “They did a wonderful job with the pull apart; it looked very convincing. Nobody can do it better than Bill,” he further remarked.
Perfect Plot Twist
Bischoff similarly stuck to his guns and stated that he did not believe that there would be any knuckle fighting as the only thing that could come out of the standoff ere Goldberg vs GUNTHER in Saudi Arabia. This is when I thought, “Hmm, that's kind of interesting, I didn't think Bill would go there again."Bang! Here comes the Sami Zayn. It was just a perfect swerve and setup,” Bischoff said while expressing his admiration about the plot twist.
There have been claims that Goldberg will retire with AEW, yet Bischoff has doubts about it. In his opinion, the wrestler's aggression is not appropriate for what the company requires at the moment. "They [AEW] need stability," said Bischoff. "I like Bill. He is a great friend. But I have to say Bill is a very intense person. He can turn out to be a very difficult person." He continued on to say that at the moment AEW does not require any hotheads like Goldberg, rather they need calm heads. "As far as I can tell right now, no. Tony Khan doesn’t need any volatility at this point; he needs stability, so I don’t see anything like that happening."
