After a quite high-stakes battle royal match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, IYO SKY became the new No. 1 contender for Liv Morgan's Women's World Championship on Monday Night Raw in WWE. The thrilling match headlined a competitive card, with the SKY emerging on top of the match against some stiff-named competition like Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, Maxxine, Zelina Vega, Shayna Baszler, Natalya, Isla Dawn, Ivy Nile, Kayden Carter, and Lyra Valkyria among others.
The match crescendoed when General Manager Adam Pearce declared that SKY would be the next challenger for Morgan's title. That announcement came after a tense exchange between Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, who confronted the Women's Tag Team Champions.
Tempers ran high and reached a boiling point when Belair slapped Morgan-a gesture that just added fuel to the already heated moment.
Final Four Showdown
As the match wore on, the last four that remained in the ring were SKY, Cargill, Belair, and Valkyria. An exciting confrontation occurred as Cargill and Belair faced off against each other, the crowd erupting in cheers. Before they could clash, SKY and Valkyria took it to the next level.
The two big women gained the advantage, and Belair hit almost simultaneously, respectively: the Jaded and the KOD trying to toss their opponents out. But into this, Rodriguez interfered, pulling on Belair's braid and halting the momentum of the tag team champions.
The interference allowed Cargill to get involved, but it backfired in SKY's favor. During the fight between the final two, SKY and Valkyria onto the ring apron, SKY took control. A convincing right hand sent Valkyria backwards as she set up a German suplex to send Valkyria crashing to the floor for the elimination and the win.
SKY now propels herself directly into contention to face Morgan for the Women's World Championship in a highly anticipated match. Teasiswa, storylines, and everything point toward a potential title win for the Sky-high-flyer that could make her status in the highly competitive women's division in WWE grow. The forthcoming match will guarantee lots of action and drama in the ring.
